I got a vanilla milkshake from McDonald's tonight. Normally I would have gotten a McFlurry, but I really wanted to honor Daddy in some way. I was missing him. So a vanilla milkshake it was!
I remember how much he liked them. We'd go through the drive-through on the way home after school, and all 3 of us would get one. As soon as we got home, it was my job to put his milkshake in the freezer to drink later. Kelsey's was usually gone before we even pulled into the driveway! And I was the mellow one - somewhere in between.
I'm going to actively try to do something every day this month that makes me think of him. That might be difficult once I get to San Francisco, because Daddy never visited San Francisco. But it should be fairly easy - and healthy - to do while I'm in New York and at home later in the month. Even while I'm in San Francisco, I'll make it a point to do things I know he'd want me to do :)
So this shall be a fun adventure! And also a painful one...
In the city of Jericho, there was a prostitute named Rahab. She had heard of the Israelites and their God, and she decided to put her trust in Him. Some spies gave Rahab a scarlet cord to put out her window. “When we attack Jericho, you will be spared,” the men said. Rahab believed them. For 6 days, she waited for the attack. But all the men did was march around the walls and play instruments. Rahab could easily have given up. But she waited and faithfully continued to display her scarlet cord.
